AMD announced a few minutes ago, July 26th, another improved version of its ATI Catalyst Linux display driver, available for both x86 and x86_64 architectures. ATI Catalyst 10.7 introduces final and stable support for the Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx) operating system, More here

Taking screenshots with Ubuntu
No extra program is needed to take screenshots with Ubuntu. Ive seen lots of weird programs for taking screenshots in my life, but one thing i seam to not understand is why people install screenshot managers to take screenshots in Ubuntu. More here
Canonical’s Disconnect with Linux Developer Community
Neary, who highlighted the results of his survey of the GNOME 2.30 code at GUADEC this week, set off a minor firestorm within the community when it was noted that among all the organizational commiters to the GNOME base code, Canonical, makers of the Ubuntu distribution, seemed to have contributed very little to GNOME. Ubuntu Server makes gains at SUSE Linux’ expense
Red Hat Enterprise Linux is still the most widely used open source server operating system in data centers, but Ubuntu Server adoption is on the rise, and it could come at the expense of SUSE Linux. More here
