Let’s have a look at Ubuntu 11.10 with GNOME3 interface and check whether it is better than Unity. It actually does not take long to install GNOME3 on Ubuntu 11.10 Read it here

Today is my last day with the test machine loaded with Ubuntu 11.10 that Canonical sent me. My conclusion is: Unity is too buggy. I don’t want to do my job, 8-10 hours a day, with it. This even though I like its look and feel and there are things about Unity I will miss when I go back to Windows 7. Read more here

End of support for Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) Netbook and ARM

Ubuntu announced the 10.04 Netbook Edition and Ubuntu for ARM products 18 months ago, on April 29, 2010. At that time, Ubuntu committed to ongoing security and critical fixes for a period of 18 months for these specific products.

This support period is now ending, and on October 29, 2011 the 10.04
Netbook Edition and Ubuntu for ARM products will no longer be supported.
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Desktop and Server products continue to be supported.

The upgrade path from Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook and ARM is to Ubuntu 10.10.

actively supported with security updates and select high-impact bug
